A West Texas Hardscaping Project is Best in the Fall
The summer heat has you shying away from your patio project? Or perhaps you are weary of a backyard that has not turned out as you had envisioned. Then there is the matter of having your outdoor area in order for the holidays.
El Paso homeowners put these questions to us at Exterior Elevate on an annual basis and our response does not vary: do it in the fall. We are a landscaping and exterior design firm, family run and local to the Greater El Paso, and we would be happy to put some plans in place for you. A phone call to (915) 265-0878 is all it takes.
When autumn comes around we have the advantage in West Texas. The kind of temperatures one endures in the summer are a thing of the past and the ground, the materials and our crews are more amenable to working with. We will tell you why hardscaping is so well suited to this time of year and what you may want to put in place.
The Case for Doing Your Outdoor Work in the Fall
There is no arguing with the heat of the region in summer. It is enough to put a damper on outdoor work and complicate the installation of some materials; concrete cures in a different fashion under triple digits than it does when you can get it poured in cooler weather.
For hardscaping here, fall is the sensible option for any number of reasons:
- You get a more even cure on walkways and patios
- The milder weather allows for longer and more productive days for our crews
- An install done in the fall is set for your enjoyment come winter and spring
- You avoid the spring rush by putting it on the calendar now
- Any new turf or plantings will have settled before the next round of hot weather
Autumn’s predictability also keeps a project on course, free of the delays a summer storm or excessive heat might bring.
Hardscaping Projects to Put in This Fall
What to build is up to you and how you make use of the space outside, but some projects are more practical as the months cool down.
Some upgrades for the yard to give thought to:
- A covered or concrete patio for a comfortable gathering spot
- An outdoor kitchen to entertain and cook without being cooped up inside
- Pergolas for style and shade
- Fencing to put some definition and privacy on your property
- Artificial turf requiring little in the way of upkeep to keep its colour
- Retaining walls, seating and pathways in general
If a pool is part of the equation, our residential services can see to it, and the season is ideal for planning the hardscape around it ahead of the next swim season.
Make it Happen in Time for the Holidays
Timing is everything when you start in the fall. With an outdoor kitchen or patio completed in October or November you can put on a good showing for friends and family over the holidays in a space you are pleased with. The sooner you get in touch the better off you will be.
We have four work crews in the field so we can accommodate projects in the region and not have people waiting. Our service area is the Greater El Paso and Horizon City, East El Paso and Fort Bliss as well as Sunland Park and Santa Teresa in New Mexico.
You will find the schedule gets full quick once spring arrives and many wait until then to make a call. Do not let that be you.
Estimates and Financing
It is an investment and we want to facilitate the process. Through GreenSky, Line and Regence we can provide financing at Exterior Elevate on terms to fit your budget.
Since our founding in 2020 we have made a study of what works with the soil and climate here. A free estimate will give you a good idea of the cost and scope of a project before you put your name to it.
We are open 9:00am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 5:30pm on Saturday.
